The Moscow World Fine Art Fair (27 May - 2 June 2008) was held for the 5th time this year in the famous Man?ge, next to the Kremlin and Red Square. As usual, it featured the finest international dealers specialising in fine jewellery, fine art and decorative objects, from classical antiquity to the latest expressions of contemporary art. It has become traditional for us to take part in this important event. This time we exhibited a unique collection of works by the renowned Russian artist Stepan Kolesnikov, who moved to Yugoslavia after the revolution with the so called "first wave" of emigration. One of the favourite artists of the Russian emperor Nicolas II, Kolesnikov was acclaimed by the public and highly praised by his teachers in the Imperial Academy of Arts - Ilya Repin and Vladimir Makovsky. Sadly, after the emigration, he shared the fate of many ?migr? artists - his name was forgotten in Russia and for many years he was out of sight of Russian critics and art historians. For over a decade our gallery has been recovering Kolesnikov's works from all corners of the world and returning them to Russia. Along with the exhibition we also premiered a documentary film about Stepan Kolesnikov and showed rare family archives of the artist. We are grateful to everyone who visited our exhibition! We would also like to mention that this year we became a member of the Charity committee founded by the organizers of the Fair in 2007. All profits from the ticket sales to Gala preview and Gala dinner were donated to the Spiritual Moral Culture of Rising Generation of Russia Foundation.
